Marissa Mulder - Tom Waits: The Songs. The Life.

Tom Waits

The Songs. The Life.

“Marissa Mulder’s Tom Waits show is a superb, fully realized piece of cabaret theater. She gets inside the primal and profoundly lyrical spaces Waits’s songs inhabit, and explores them not only as a singer but also as an actor, with all the emotional and psychological nuance they demand. It’s an extraordinary theatrical achievement. This show deserves to be in the basement room of every regional theater in the country.” - Blue Strawberry

“Far and away the season’s best cabaret show, everything the genre can be...” - Stephen Holden, The New York Times

“Marissa Mulder is ascending the ranks of the major song interpreters of our time. She is literally incapable of singing an insincere note.” - Will Friedwald, The Wall Street Journal

“A truly gifted lyric interpreter.” - Michael Feinstein

Marissa Mulder’s NYC venues include The Carlyle, Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Carnegie Hall, 54 Below, Birdland and Joe’s Pub.
